Mini oval ceramic desk lamp

The Simple Designs Mini Egg lamp is a compact table light with an oval ceramic base and matching fabric shade. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, offices, children's rooms or college dormitories where a small accent light is wanted. The unit stands 9.45 inches tall and the shade measures 5.5 inches across. It is sold new and includes no bulb.

E12 candelabra socket limit

The lamp accepts a single type B E12 candelabra-base bulb rated up to 40 watts. Exceeding that wattage can overheat the socket and shade, so only lower-power bulbs should be fitted. The E12 base is smaller than standard medium sockets, restricting bulb choices to candelabra styles. No switch type or dimming capability is specified in the data.

40 watt maximum bulb rating

The 40 watt limit is the decisive specification for safe operation and determines whether this lamp meets a buyer's brightness needs. Shoppers requiring higher output for task lighting should look elsewhere because the socket and UL parts rating cap the power at 40 watts. Buyers wanting integrated LEDs or a different socket type cannot use this model. The correct low-wattage candelabra bulb must be purchased separately.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 9.45-inch height or the 5.5-inch shade diameter for my desk space?

The lamp stands 9.45 inches tall overall, while the fabric shade spans 5.5 inches across; measure your desk clearance against the total height and surface area against the shade width.

What does the 40-watt rating mean for everyday brightness?

A 40-watt type B E12 candelabra bulb provides gentle ambient light suited to reading nooks, bedside tables or dorm desks rather than high-output task lighting.

How does the E12 candelabra base limit my bulb choices?

The socket accepts only E12 candelabra-base bulbs up to 40 watts, so standard medium-base LEDs or higher-wattage candles will not fit or are not supported.
