Mechanical pushbutton lock for narrow stile doors
The Simplex 3001-55 is a mechanical pushbutton combination lock built for narrow stile aluminium glass doors. It provides exterior access by code without batteries or wiring. The Duranodic 55 (695) finish gives a black, force-resistant cast front housing with a clutch-protected fixed thumbturn. A single access code is programmed at the keypad without removing the lock from the door.
Suits narrow stile aluminium doors up to 1-3/4"
This lock fits doors up to 1-3/4 inches thick and requires a minimum stile width of 1-7/8 inches for mounting. It is keyed different and sold without cylinder, latch or strike. Installers who need those components, or who are fitting thicker doors or wider stile profiles, should source the additional hardware separately.
Mortise cylinder required but not supplied
The lock is designed for a mortise cylinder that must be purchased separately. Without that cylinder the lock cannot be keyed or commissioned, so verifying cylinder compatibility before ordering is the single specification that decides whether this is the right part.

Questions about this item
Will the mechanical pushbutton combination mechanism on the Simplex 3001-55 need periodic lubrication or part replacement?
The all-metal cast housing and clutch-protected thumbturn are designed for long-term mechanical operation without battery changes; no scheduled lubrication or replacement intervals are published by the manufacturer.
What is the first limitation you hit when the Simplex 3001-55 is used continuously on a high-traffic narrow stile door?
The single access code programmed at the keypad cannot be changed without re-entering a new sequence, so code management becomes the practical limit under sustained heavy use.
Does the Simplex 3001-55 generate noticeable heat or noise when operated all day on a busy entrance?
As a fully mechanical lock with no electronic components, it produces no heat and only the audible click of the pushbuttons and thumbturn during each operation.
