The Simplex 8148S-LH-26D is a heavy-duty mechanical pushbutton mortise lever lock finished in satin chrome US26D. It provides exterior access by combination while allowing free egress from the interior. The lock is designed for left-hand doors and accepts LFIC Schlage cores, which are sold separately. Its vandal-resistant numeric keypad uses solid metal pushbuttons and a single access code programmed at the door.

Door-thickness and backset constraints

This lock fits wood or metal doors 44 mm to 57 mm thick with standard 86 mortise preparation. The backset is fixed at 70 mm and the two-piece anti-friction latch projects 19 mm. An optional deadbolt throws 25 mm and uses a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" x 1/4" mortise strike plate. Installers must verify the door thickness range and mortise cut-out before fitting.

LFIC Schlage core compatibility

The lock is built specifically for Large Format Interchangeable Core Schlage cylinders; no other core type will operate the key override. Buyers who need a different keyway or a small-format core cannot use this model. The core must be sourced separately and installed to complete the locking function.
