Modern Rectangular Shag Rug for Living Spaces

The SlickBlue 5 x 7 ft gray area rug brings a soft, plush surface to bedrooms and living rooms. Its polyester and sponge construction creates a skin-friendly texture suitable for children and pets. The rectangular shape fits standard furniture layouts while adding warmth to hard floors.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

The thick 1.4-1.6 inch pile insulates against cold flooring and dampens footfall sound throughout the room. Non-slip grip dots on the backing keep the rug stationary on smooth surfaces such as hardwood or marble. No electricity or active cooling is required for daily operation.

Upgrade from Thin or Slippery Floor Coverings

This rug replaces flat-weave mats or bare floors where extra cushion and stability are wanted. The non-shedding shag resists wear in high-traffic zones and simplifies cleaning with regular vacuuming. Buyers needing larger dimensions or outdoor-rated materials should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How do I install the rug and what step is often missed?

Unroll the 5 x 7 ft rug on a clean floor and press down firmly so the anti-slip grip dots on the back make full contact; skipping this press-down step lets the rug shift on smooth surfaces.

What maintenance will this rug need over time?

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting to avoid pulling the 1.4-1.6 inch polyester shag; spot-clean spills promptly with mild detergent and air-dry to preserve the non-shedding fibres.

What limit appears first during heavy daily use?

The 1.4-1.6 inch plush pile will compress in high-traffic paths before the anti-slip dots lose grip or the edge binding fails.
