Compact Bluetooth 5.4 dongle for Windows PCs

This tiny USB 2.0 adapter adds Bluetooth 5.4 to laptops or desktops running Windows 8.1, 10 or 11 without any driver installation. It also works on Windows 7 after a manual driver setup. The stick is aimed at users who need wireless peripherals such as keyboards, mice, headphones or speakers on machines that lack built-in Bluetooth.

Plug-and-play design with silicone tail light

The matte-black body measures 10.8 by 10.2 by 1.5 centimetres and weighs only a few grams, so it stays unobtrusive in a laptop port. A built-in antenna gives a stated range of up to 20 metres, while the silicone film at the tail end lights up to show activity. Driverless operation on modern Windows versions means you simply insert the dongle and pair devices immediately.

Check your OS version and USB port before buying

Windows 8.1, 10 and 11 are supported natively; Windows 7 requires you to install a driver from the supplied disc or a download. The adapter uses a USB 2.0 interface, so ensure you have a free Type-A port. It can maintain simultaneous connections to seven devices, but verify that your peripherals use Bluetooth versions compatible with the 5.4 specification.

Questions about this item

What does the USB 2.0 interface mean for real-world Bluetooth 5.4 speeds?

The adapter uses a USB 2.0 port and its Bluetooth 5.4 chip is rated for up to 3 Mbit/s bandwidth, so the USB link will not throttle the radio.

Will the 10.8 x 10.2 x 1.5 cm body block the port next to it on a laptop?

The dongle measures 10.8 by 10.2 by 1.5 centimetres and weighs 6 g; it sits flush in a USB-A socket and rarely obstructs an adjacent port.

Do I need to run an installer on Windows 10, or is it truly plug-and-play?

Windows 8.1, 10 and 11 load the driver automatically — just insert the adapter. Only Windows 7 requires a manual driver install from the supplied disc.
