SmallHD 8GB SD Card

The SmallHD 8GB SD Card is a flash memory card built for use with SmallHD monitors. It stores look files, image captures, firmware updates and monitor profiles. The card targets camera operators and video professionals who need reliable local storage for monitor-side assets.

Installation and common issues

Insert the card into the monitor’s SD slot; the device recognises it immediately with no drivers required. A physical write-protect switch prevents accidental overwrites. The most frequent issue is leaving the switch in the lock position, which blocks firmware updates or profile saves.

8 GB capacity constraint

The card offers 8 GB of storage, which suits firmware bundles, LUT collections and still captures. It will not hold extended video recordings or large proxy files. Buyers who need hours of recorded footage should choose higher-capacity media.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 8GB SD card is transferring look files and firmware updates to my SmallHD monitor correctly?

After inserting the card, verify the monitor recognises it in the media menu, then run a firmware update or load a custom profile; successful completion without error messages shows the card is working as intended.

What comes with the SmallHD 8GB SD Card and is anything else required to use it?

The box contains the 8GB SD card with its integrated write-protect switch; no extra accessories are included, but you will need an SD card reader or a monitor slot to transfer files between the card and a computer.

Should I choose this 8GB card or a larger capacity for storing monitor profiles and look files?

The 8GB capacity holds essential data, firmware updates and custom profiles for SmallHD monitors; if you regularly transfer large batches of look files or image captures, a higher-capacity card would reduce the need for frequent offloading.
