Dual Handheld Cage Kit for iPhone 17 Pro

The SmallRig 5540 kit transforms the iPhone 17 Pro into a professional dual-handed video rig. It is built for content creators, live streamers and short-film makers who need stable, shake-free footage without a full camera kit. The aluminium alloy cage wraps the phone securely while keeping every button, port and sensor accessible.

T-Mount and 17mm Lens Backplates Expand Optics

Two interchangeable backplates ship in the box: a T-mount plate and a 17mm threaded plate. They let you screw on external lenses or, with a separate 67mm magnetic filter adapter, add filters for creative control. The cage also provides multiple 1/4"-20 anti-twist threads and cold-shoe mounts for microphones, lights or monitors.

Dedicated Fit for iPhone 17 Pro Only

The case and cage are moulded exclusively for the iPhone 17 Pro, so the phone slides in with its own protective case still on. No other phone model aligns with the button cut-outs, lens backplates or strap holes, making this kit unusable for owners of any other device.

Questions about this item

Will the 17mm threaded lens backplate or T-mount backplate wear out from repeated lens changes?

Both backplates are fixed to the phone case with screws; normal lens swaps do not stress the threads, so no scheduled replacement is required.

What limits continuous handheld shooting before fatigue sets in?

The aluminium-alloy cage and dual handles add mass to the iPhone 17 Pro, so arm fatigue rather than any thermal or power limit ends a session first.

Does the cage trap heat or make the phone run hotter during all-day recording?

The hollowed-out design leaves the phone’s surfaces exposed, so heat dissipates normally and the cage itself adds no measurable thermal load.
