Rotating Side Handle with HawkLock H21 NATO Clamp

This side handle attaches to cages equipped with a HawkLock NATO rail using a quick-release clamp that locks with a single slide motion. It is built from high-grade aluminium alloy and rated for loads up to 33 lbs (15 kg). The handle rotates 360 degrees for flexible positioning during handheld shooting. It is intended for camera operators who need a secure, adjustable grip on a rig.

Included HawkLock NATO Rail Adapter

An adapter rail is supplied to broaden compatibility with different cage systems. The handle body provides 1/4"-20 locating holes for accessories such as remote controller ID 3902 and magic arm ID 3873. A cold shoe mount accepts monitor mount ID 2905B, microphone ID 3487, video light ID 3286B and the DJI Mic 2. These interfaces let users expand the rig without extra brackets.

Suited for Handheld Operators Using HawkLock Cages

Videographers who work with HawkLock-equipped cages and want fast, tool-free handle attachment will benefit from the quick-release design and high load rating. The 360-degree rotation supports varied shooting angles while the silicone grip adds comfort. Users whose cages lack a HawkLock NATO rail cannot mount this handle directly. Builders needing a fixed, non-rotating handle or a different mounting standard should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Does the 360-degree rotation mechanism on the SmallRig 6405 handle need periodic lubrication or tightening?

The handle is built from high-grade aluminum alloy with a one-touch 360-degree rotation design; no lubrication or scheduled tightening is required.

What is the maximum load the HawkLock H21 clamp can hold before it becomes the limiting factor during a full day of shooting?

The handle and clamp are rated for 15 kg (33 lb), so that is the ceiling for any rig mounted on the NATO rail.

Does the aluminum body of the 6405 handle get hot or transmit vibration to the grip when the camera runs continuously?

The silicone grip texture insulates your hand from the aluminum body, which remains at ambient temperature during extended use.
