Blue 33-foot active USB 3.0 extension cable with male-to-female connectors and included 5V power adapter

SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK 33 Feet Active USB 3.0 Extension Cable

SKU CH-SSCE-MP93E

Extends USB 3.0 connections up to 33 feet with two built-in signal booster chips for 5 Gbit/s data transfer without attenuation, includes a 5 V 2 A power adapter for devices drawing over 900 mA.

Cable Length 33 Feet

  • 5 Gbit/s transfer speed — ten times faster than USB 2.0
  • 33 ft active extension with dual signal-boosting chips prevents attenuation
  • Multi-layer foil and braid shielding minimises interference
  • Plug-and-play driverless operation for printers, cameras, hubs and drives
  • Included 5 V / 2 A adapter supplies stable power when devices exceed 900 mA

Active USB 3.0 extension up to 33 feet

This active USB 3.0 extension cable extends the connection between a computer and peripherals up to 33 feet. Built-in signal amplification chips prevent attenuation over the long run. It is intended for users who need to place devices such as webcams, printers, hard drives or VR headsets farther from the host than a standard passive cable allows.

Practical limits of the USB 3.0 interface

The cable supports USB 3.0 data rates up to 5 Gbit/s and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices at 480 Mbit/s. A supplied 5 V/2 A power adapter must be connected when the attached device draws more than 900 mA. Multi-layer shielding reduces interference, but the active electronics define the maximum reliable length at 33 feet.

Single specification that decides fit

The decisive specification is the 33-foot active reach with integrated signal boosters. If the installation requires a longer run or a passive cable, this product will not meet the requirement. Buyers who need more distance or a different connector type should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Is the 33-foot length available with or without the included power adapter?

The cable ships with a 5V/2A power adapter that must be connected when the attached device draws more than 900mA; it is not sold separately.

Will the 5Gbit/s headline speed be maintained over the full 33-foot run?

Built-in signal amplification chips prevent attenuation so the USB 3.0 link can sustain up to 5Gbit/s across the entire 33-foot distance.

Does the USB 3.0 interface limit the cable to 480Mbit/s when used with older peripherals?

The cable is backward compatible and will fall back to USB 2.0 speeds of 480Mbit/s when connected to USB 2.0 devices.
