SMUGDESK 4×2 HDMI Matrix Switcher

This SMUGDESK unit routes four HDMI sources to two displays independently or mirrors one source to both screens. It handles 4K@60Hz, HDR10 and HDCP 2.2 with 18.5Gbps bandwidth. Dual optical SPDIF and dual 3.5mm L/R outputs extract audio separately. IR remote and front-panel buttons give two ways to switch channels.

Home theatres, meeting rooms

Ideal for installers who need flexible 4-to-2 routing with independent audio extraction and long-distance IR switching. Buyers who require more than two simultaneous output zones should look at a larger matrix. Set-ups that depend on control protocols not listed here are not supported by this device.

18.5Gbps HDMI 2.0b bandwidth

The 18.5Gbps bandwidth is the single specification that guarantees 4K@60Hz, HDR10 and HDCP 2.2 performance. If your sources or displays need higher data rates, this matrix will not pass the signal. All other features depend on this bandwidth ceiling.

Questions about this item

Will the IR remote or panel buttons wear out and need replacement?

The unit uses an IR wireless remote and front-panel buttons for channel switching; no user-replaceable parts are specified for either control method.

What bandwidth ceiling limits sustained 4K@60Hz HDR10 throughput?

The HDMI 2.0b chipset provides 18.5Gbps total bandwidth, which is the hard limit for continuous 4K@60Hz HDR10 and HDCP 2.2 streams.

Does the matrix generate noticeable heat or fan noise during all-day operation?

The description mentions a built-in signal amplification chip for stable transmission but gives no details on thermal output, fan presence or power draw under continuous use.
