What this cable does and who needs it

A 90-degree USB-C to USB-C cable rated for USB4 speeds and 240W power delivery. It suits users who need high-bandwidth data, 8K video output and fast charging in tight spaces behind monitors or docks. The right-angle connector reduces strain on ports where straight plugs would foul adjacent cables or case walls. Buyers who want more storage or a second card cannot be helped by a single cable.

Capacity and headroom: data, video and power

The cable carries up to 40Gbps on USB4 Gen3 ports and falls back to 20Gbps on Gen2 connections. It can drive a single 8K display at 60Hz or dual 4K at 60Hz when the host and monitor support those modes. Power delivery reaches 240W at 48V and 5A with a compatible charger, covering phones, notebooks, Macs and SSDs. The 1.6FT length keeps signal integrity while limiting reach to desktop setups.

Practical limits of the USB4 interface

Actual data throughput depends on the host controller, device firmware and cable quality; Gen3 ports deliver the full 40Gbps while Gen2 caps at 20Gbps. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts will negotiate their own lane configurations, so peak bandwidth may vary. Video modes require DisplayPort Alt Mode support on both ends, and 240W charging needs a PD 3.1 source and sink. The 90-degree plug adds no electrical penalty but fixes the cable orientation.

Questions about this item

Will the 90-degree USB4 connector clear my laptop's adjacent HDMI port when plugged in?

The 90-degree bend routes the cable parallel to the device edge, reducing strain and keeping neighbouring ports such as HDMI or USB-A accessible on most notebooks.

How can I verify the cable is delivering 40 Gbps and 240 W after I connect it?

Check the OS link-speed indicator for 40 Gbps Gen3 and confirm the power-negotiation message shows 48 V at 5 A; both require a host, charger and peripheral that each support USB4 Gen3 and PD 3.1.

Does the 1.6 ft pack include a 240 W charger or only the cable?

Only the 90-degree USB4 cable is included; a PD 3.1 charger rated for 240 W and a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 device must be purchased separately to reach the stated limits.
