SMUGDESK PCIe 1x 2.5G Ethernet Card RTL8125B

SKU CH-EYPJ-PMTR2

Adds a 2.5 Gbps RJ45 port via PCIe 1x with RTL8125B chip, PXE boot and 2.5G/1G/100M auto-negotiation

  • Up to 2.5 Gbps network speed with RTL8125B chip
  • Fits any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot
  • PXE boot support for remote system deployment
  • Auto-negotiates 2.5G, 1G and 100M connections
  • Low-heat design for stable long-term operation

2.5 Gbps PCIe Network Card

This PCIe 1x adapter uses the RTL8125B controller to add a single 2.5 Gbps RJ45 port to a desktop PC, NAS or server. It delivers up to 2500 Mbps bandwidth for faster local file transfers and is backward compatible with 1000 Mbps and 100 Mbps networks. The card supports PXE remote boot for simplified system deployment.

Home labs and small offices needing 2.5 Gbps LAN

Builders upgrading older desktops or entry-level NAS units to multi-gigabit speeds will benefit from the simple PCIe 1x fit and broad OS support. Users who require dual ports, 10 Gbps throughput, fibre connectivity or Wi-Fi functionality should consider other solutions.

Straightforward PCIe 1x installation

Insert the card into any available PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and connect a Cat 5e or better Ethernet cable. Driver support is included in current Windows and Linux kernels so most systems recognise the adapter immediately. The main issues arise when the slot shares bandwidth with other devices or when older BIOS revisions disable PXE boot by default.

Questions about this item

Does my desktop need a free PCIe x1 slot for this card?

Yes, it uses a standard PCIe 1x connector that also fits x4, x8 or x16 slots.

Will it negotiate speed with my existing 1000Mbps router?

Yes, the RJ45 port auto-negotiates 2.5Gbps, 1000Mbps or 100Mbps links.

How can I confirm the RTL8125B is running at 2500Mbps after installation?

Check the adapter speed in OS network settings or the switch port LED; it should show 2.5Gbps when connected to a 2.5G switch.
