SMUGDESK Torpedo Nova USB-C 4K 30Hz Capture Card 100W PD USB 3.0 5Gbps

SKU CH-P5PV-7BJJG

A USB-C capture card that records 4K at 30 Hz or 1080p at 60 Hz while delivering up to 100 W passthrough charging and a 5 Gbps USB 3.0 data port

  • Capture 4K video at 30Hz for sharp streams
  • 100W PD passthrough keeps devices powered during sessions
  • USB 3.0 port moves files at 5Gbps
  • Plug-and-play with OBS on Windows, Mac, Linux
  • Backward compatible 1080p at 60Hz for smooth playback

All-in-one capture and power hub

The SMUGDESK Torpedo Nova combines 4K@30Hz HDMI video capture with 100W USB-C Power Delivery passthrough and a 5Gbps USB 3.0 data port. It targets content creators, game streamers and conference hosts who need recording, charging and file transfer in a single compact adapter. Driver-free UVC and UAC support makes it instantly ready for OBS Studio, VLC and other mainstream software on Windows, Mac and Linux.

4K@30Hz capture with 1080P@60Hz fallback

The card captures HDMI signals up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second and drops back to 1080P at 60 frames per second for smoother motion. The 100W PD port keeps laptops, tablets or handheld consoles powered during long sessions so recording never stops for a dead battery. The separate USB 3.0 channel moves captured footage and large files at 5Gbps without contending with the video stream.

Plug-and-play freedom for multi-device workflows

No drivers or extra software are required; the device enumerates as a standard video and audio class peripheral the moment it is connected. The 100W passthrough frees a laptop’s own charger port while the USB 3.0 port offloads footage to external storage, reducing cable clutter on desk or mobile rigs. Buyers who need 4K@60Hz capture or internal PCIe latency will need a different class of hardware.

Questions about this item

Will the 4K 30 Hz capture work alongside my older 1080p 60 Hz camera?

Yes, the card captures 4K at 30 Hz and is backward compatible with 1080p at 60 Hz, so both sources can be used in the same streaming setup.

How do I verify the 100 W PD charging is active after I connect my laptop?

Your laptop’s battery icon will show it is charging while the capture card passes through up to 100 W of power during recording or streaming.

Does the box include an HDMI cable and a USB-C power adapter, or must I buy them separately?

The capture card itself is supplied; an HDMI cable for the video source and a USB-C power adapter for the 100 W passthrough are not included and must be purchased separately.
