15-Foot USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable

This active repeater cable extends a USB 2.0 connection up to 15 feet using a Type-A male to Type-A female layout. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion while the built-in signal booster maintains data integrity over the full length. It draws power directly from the host port so no external adapter is needed. Plug-and-play operation works without driver installation on any major operating system.

Desk setups needing reach beyond a standard cable

The 15-foot span suits printers, scanners, security cameras, VR headsets such as HTC Vive, keyboards, mice, headsets, flash drives and game controllers that must sit farther from the host computer. It is not suited for devices that require USB 3.0 or higher throughput, nor for buyers who need a longer run than 15 feet without adding a powered hub.

USB 2.0 signalling at 15 feet

The single specification that decides fit is the USB 2.0 active repeater design, which allows the cable to carry low-speed, full-speed and high-speed signals across the full 15-foot distance without signal loss.

Questions about this item

Is the 15 foot length the only option for this active USB 2.0 extender?

Yes, this model is supplied as a single 15 foot active extension cable with a Type-A male connector on one end and a Type-A female port on the other.

Will the active repeater maintain full USB 2.0 signal quality over the full 15 feet?

The built-in repeater regenerates the signal so the link remains reliable across the entire 15 foot run without the degradation seen on passive cables.

Does the USB 2.0 interface limit what I can plug into the female port at the far end?

The port accepts any standard USB device; bandwidth will follow the 2.0 specification, so high-speed peripherals will operate at their normal 2.0 rates.
