Two 10FT USB 3.0 male-to-female extension cables, black finish

SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK USB 3.0 Extension Cable Male to Female 2 Pack 10FT USB Extender

SKU CH-RG60-HE1K1

Two 10 ft USB 3.0 male-to-female cables extend peripherals and protect ports, moving data at up to 480 Mbps with USB 2.0 backward compatibility

  • Extend USB reach by 10 ft for comfortable device placement
  • Shield ports from wear by reducing repeated plug and unplug cycles
  • Transfer files up to 10× faster than USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps with USB 3.0 host
  • Works with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 devices at bus-limited speeds
  • Two cables included for multiple peripherals or spare connection points

Two-Pack USB 3.0 Extension Cables

This set includes two 10-foot USB 3.0 male-to-female extension cables designed to lengthen the reach of existing USB connections. They suit desktop users who need to route peripherals away from rear I/O panels without moving the host computer. Each cable adds 10 feet of working length for keyboards, mice, flash drives or external hard drives. The pair provides spare cables for multiple workstations or devices.

Shielded Connectors for Daily Use

The male Type-A plug and female Type-A receptacle are built to withstand repeated insertion cycles, reducing wear on the host ports of PCs, televisions or hubs. Shielded construction helps maintain signal integrity over the full 10-foot run when connected to USB 3.0 ports. Backward compatibility with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 allows the same cables to serve older peripherals at their native speeds. The 10-foot length clears typical desk-to-tower or wall-mount-TV distances.

5 Gbps Maximum Transfer Rate

USB 3.0 delivers up to 5 Gbps theoretical bandwidth, roughly ten times the 480 Mbps ceiling of USB 2.0, enabling rapid transfer of large media files when both host and device support USB 3.0. Actual throughput depends on the host controller, the peripheral and cable quality. Buyers who require longer runs than 10 feet or need active signal boosting for distances beyond the USB 3.0 passive limit should consider active or optical alternatives.

Questions about this item

What transfer rate does the USB 3.0 interface cap at in practice?

The cable supports USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gbps, which is 10X faster than USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, and actual throughput is limited by the host controller and connected device.

What physical space is needed to route the 10FT cables?

Each cable is 10 feet long with standard USB-A male and female ends, so allow enough slack to reach from the host port to the peripheral without sharp bends or tension on the connectors.

How do I install the extension cables and what step is often missed?

Plug the male end into the computer or hub and the female end accepts your device; the step often missed is ensuring the host port is USB 3.0 to achieve the higher transfer rate.
