Questions about this item

Do I need a USB-A port on my computer to use this cable?

Yes, the cable has a USB-A plug on one end and a USB-C plug on the other, so your host device must provide a standard USB-A receptacle.

Will this cable work at 10Gbps if I plug it into an older USB 3.0 port?

It will work, but the transfer speed drops to the 5Gbps limit of the USB 3.0 port instead of the cable's 10Gbps rating.
