SMUGDESK USB C to USB C Nylon Braided Cable 40Gbps 240W 5FT

SKU CH-3NX6-R3VK7

A USB-C cable delivering 240W charging, 40Gbps data and 8K video in a 5 ft braided design

Cable Length 5 Feet

  • 40Gbps transfer speed moves large SSD files in seconds
  • 240W PD 3.1 charging powers a 16-inch laptop from 0 to 60 in 30 minutes
  • Single 8K or dual 4K display output builds a multi-screen workstation
  • USB 4.0 Gen 3x2 replaces older USB and Thunderbolt cables with one lead
  • Nylon braid and E-Marker chip protect signal integrity at full 40Gbps bandwidth

High-Speed USB4 Cable for Data and Power

This USB4 Gen 3x2 cable reaches 40Gbps bi-directional transfer with compatible devices. It delivers up to 240W charging via PD 3.1 Extended Power Range at 48V. The cable also carries video signals for single 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@60Hz displays using two cables. Its nylon braided jacket protects the 5FT length for daily desk or travel use.

Check Port Capabilities Before Connecting

Verify that your host and peripheral both support USB4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 to achieve the 40Gbps data rate. For 240W charging, the power source and device must implement PD 3.1 EPR; otherwise the cable negotiates lower voltages such as 28V or 36V. Video output requires the host port to support DisplayPort Alt Mode. The reversible USB-C connectors fit any orientation but cannot add features the port lacks.

Thermals Noise and Power in Normal Use

Passive copper construction means no fans and silent operation under any load. The E-Marker chip manages PD 3.1 negotiation so the cable handles 48V at 240W without overheating during extended charging sessions. Heat dissipation relies on the connector housings and braided sheath; no active cooling is required. Power draw is negligible when idle and scales only with the attached device's demand.

Questions about this item

Does the 5FT cable ship with any adapters or do I need to buy them separately?

The package contains only the USB C to USB C nylon braided cable itself; no adapters, power bricks or video dongles are included.

My laptop only supports 100W charging — will the 240W rating cause any issues?

The cable negotiates power automatically and is fully backward compatible with 180W, 100W, 60W and lower profiles, so it will simply deliver the maximum your device requests.

What does the 40Gbps figure actually give me when I plug in an NVMe enclosure?

With a USB4 Gen3x2 host and enclosure you can see up to 40Gbps bi-directional throughput, cutting large-file transfers to a fraction of the time required by 20Gbps cables.
