What this cable delivers

This USB4 cable carries 40 Gbps data and up to 240 W of power over a 3.3 ft braided USB-C to USB-C link. It drives one 8K or 6K display at 60 Hz, or two 4K displays at 60 Hz simultaneously. The cable works with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts and devices, and falls back to USB 3.2, 3.1 and 2.0 speeds where required.

How it fits a setup

Connect it between a Thunderbolt 4 laptop, an eGPU enclosure, a high-speed dock or a GaN charger and the peripheral you need to power or move data to. The single cable replaces separate charging and video leads, freeing ports on compact machines such as a MacBook Pro or Air. Your USB-C source must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video output to work.

What it upgrades

The 240 W rating replaces earlier 60 W and 100 W USB-C cables, letting you charge larger laptops and power-hungry docks from one wire. The 40 Gbps bandwidth doubles the throughput of standard Thunderbolt cables, so the jump is worth it when you move big project files to fast external storage or run dual 4K workflows. Buyers who only need basic charging or 10 Gbps data will not use the extra headroom.

Questions about this item

Does the 40 Gbps data rate hold steady during long file transfers?

The cable is rated for 40 Gbps and backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1 and 2.0 speeds, so sustained transfers run at the host's supported rate.

Will the braided jacket get hot or stiff when delivering 240 W continuously?

The 240 W Power Delivery rating means the cable is built to carry that load; heat and flexibility depend on the charger and device negotiating the power.

What must my laptop port support to drive an 8K display at 60 Hz through this cable?

The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode; the cable itself handles 8K at 60 Hz or dual 4K at 60 Hz.
