USB4 Gen 3x2 cable for 40 Gbps workflows
This 3.3-foot USB4 cable delivers up to 40 Gbps bi-directional data transfer between compatible devices. It suits professionals moving large project files between SSD enclosures, docks and workstations. The connection uses USB C male plugs on both ends with reversible orientation. It is not intended for users who only need basic charging or lower-speed peripherals.
E-Marker chip enables 240 W Power Delivery
An integrated E-Marker supports USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range up to 240 W at 48 V, with backward compatibility for 180 W, 140 W, 100 W and 60 W profiles. The cable also handles PD 3.0 PPS, PD 2.0, QC 4.0, QC 3.0, AFC, SCP and FCP protocols. It cannot increase the wattage of a charger that does not support the matching Power Delivery specification.
Plug-and-play with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts
The braided cord connects instantly to any USB-C port and is recognised by Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 controllers without drivers. Common issues arise when the host, charger or peripheral lacks PD 3.1 EPR support, limiting power to the lowest common denomination. The fixed 3.3-foot length may restrict placement in some desk setups.

Questions about this item
Will the E-Marker chip inside this 3.3 ft cable need replacement after heavy 240 W charging cycles?
The E-Marker is permanently embedded in the USB-C plugs and does not wear out; the cable itself is rated for 240 W PD 3.1 Extended Power Range and 40 Gbps USB4 Gen 3x2, so no chip replacement is expected.
What stops me from getting the full 40 Gbps during a long SSD transfer?
Sustained 40 Gbps requires both host and device to support USB4 Gen 3x2; if either end falls back to a lower USB generation or Thunderbolt 3, the link will negotiate down to that slower speed.
How warm does the braided 3.3 ft cord get when delivering 240 W continuously?
At 48 V and 5 A the conductors are designed for Extended Power Range operation; normal warmth is expected, but the cable meets USB4 thermal limits so it should not become uncomfortably hot during all-day 240 W use.
