What the cable does

This USB4 cable carries 40 Gbps data, up to 240 W power and 8K 60 Hz video over a four-foot USB-C to USB-C link. It works with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts as well as USB 3.2, 3.1 and 2.0 devices.

What the 240 W rating changes

Paired with a compatible charger the cable delivers up to 48 V at 5 A, so one lead can power phones, accessories and gaming laptops alike. The E-Mark chip ensures the host negotiates the correct current automatically.

Where the 40 Gbps limit applies

Real-world throughput reaches 2.8 GB/s read and 2.1 GB/s write, and the 40 Gbps ceiling is shared between data and display traffic. Dual 4K 60 Hz monitors require two separate cables because the single link cannot drive both streams simultaneously.
