Classic 1996 arcade shooter on Steam

Twinkle Star Sprites brings the original NEOGEO MVS competitive scrolling shooter to PC through a Steam download code. The 2016 release preserves the 1996 arcade action with nine selectable characters across Story, Character and local Versus modes. It suits players who want a lightweight, nostalgic action game that runs on modest hardware.

Runs on modest Windows PCs

The game requires only a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz processor, 1 GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics with DirectX 9.0c on Windows Vista, 7 or 8. Such low demands mean minimal power draw, silent operation and no thermal stress on any modern or legacy system. A Steam account is mandatory for activation and play.

Online multiplayer requires Steam

Multiplayer features including friend invites, lobbies and global leaderboards function exclusively through the Steam platform. Buyers without a Steam account or those who prefer offline-only licensing cannot access the competitive online modes that define this release.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Steam code for Twinkle Star Sprites on Windows?

Create or sign into a Steam account, select "Activate a Product on Steam," enter the supplied code, then download and install the game. The step often missed is launching Steam first before entering the code.

Will I need to renew any subscription or repurchase Twinkle Star Sprites later?

No. The Steam code grants a permanent licence for the 2016 PC release; there is no subscription, season pass, or recurring fee tied to the base game.

What is the first performance limit I will hit on minimum specs during long play sessions?

The 1 GB RAM minimum leaves little headroom for background tasks, so memory pressure appears before the Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor or Intel HD Graphics become bottlenecks.
