Socket Mobile D730 Laser Barcode Scanner

The Socket Mobile D730 is a Class 2 laser barcode scanner built for mobility and durability in warehousing, manufacturing and retail environments. It reads 1D codes up to 180 inches away through glass or plastic and handles damaged or poor-quality labels in bright sunlight or dark conditions. Certified by Apple for iOS and compatible with Android and Windows devices, it connects via long-range Bluetooth up to 330 feet (100 m). The Capture SDK enables easy integration into existing business applications for reliable data transfer.

IP54 Protection and 16-Hour Battery Life

The scanner carries an IP54 rating for dust and water splashing protection and withstands multiple drops to concrete and repeated tumbles. A field-replaceable battery lasts up to 16 hours of continuous scanning, supporting full-shift operation without downtime. Intuitive LED indicators display battery level, Bluetooth connection and scanning status at a glance. Antimicrobial additives in the housing help protect against harmful bacteria during shared use across teams.

Lightweight Ergonomics and Mounting Options

Weighing 0.65 lb, the D730 is small enough to fit in a pocket and designed for comfort during extended use. It includes a lanyard and belt clip for immediate hands-free carry, while a holster and durable retractable clip are available separately for fixed workstation mounting. The scanner is fully backwards compatible with prior Socket Mobile SDK versions and works immediately with applications using native scanning support such as Shopify, Square and ShopKeep.

Questions about this item

How do I pair the D730 with my iOS device and which step is often missed?

Enable Bluetooth on the iPhone or iPad, open the Socket Mobile Capture app, tap Add Scanner and select the D730 from the list; the step many skip is confirming the MFi pairing prompt that appears on screen before scanning will work.

Which part will need replacement first and how is it changed?

The field-replaceable battery is the only user-serviceable component; slide the latch, swap the cell and close the cover — no tools required.

What limits continuous scanning during a full 16-hour shift?

Battery capacity sets the hard limit; after 16 hours of typical use the scanner must be recharged before it can read another barcode.
