Compact Industrial Imager

The Solio Matrix 220 is a fixed-mount barcode scanner built for industrial environments. Its 1.2 MPixel sensor and multicore image platform read 1D and 2D codes, including direct part marks. The compact form factor fits tight workstations in warehouses and manufacturing lines. Buyers needing a handheld gun or wireless mobility should choose a different form factor.

Passive Thermal Design

The unit operates without active cooling, so it adds no fan noise to the production floor. Power is drawn only during active decode cycles, keeping average consumption low. No external heatsink or forced-air provision is required for normal operation. Installers must verify that the available supply voltage matches the device rating before wiring.

DPM-Focused Optics

Integrated lighting is tuned for direct part marking on metal, plastic and glass surfaces. The 7 mm depth-of-field rating covers typical fixture distances without manual refocus. No additional lenses, filters or mounting brackets are bundled in the package. Users must supply their own cables and configuration software for initial setup.

Questions about this item

How is the Matrix 220 mounted and what alignment step is often missed?

The Matrix 220 mounts on standard M3 or M4 brackets; the step often missed is setting the 7 mm working distance so the 1.2 MP sensor stays in focus for DPM codes.

What part will need replacement after extended use in a warehouse?

The integrated illumination module is the only field-replaceable component; it degrades after thousands of hours of continuous DPM reading.

At what point does sustained scanning hit a hard limit?

The multicore image processor caps sustained decode throughput at the sensor frame rate; beyond that the reader queues frames and drops new triggers.
