Dual CFast 2.0 reader
The Sonnet SF3-2CFST is a Thunderbolt 3 card reader that accepts two CFast 2.0 cards at once. It draws power from the Thunderbolt connection so no external adapter is needed. The aluminium enclosure protects the slots during transport and studio use. It ships with a captive .5 metre Thunderbolt 3 cable.
1000 MB/s aggregate throughput
Two slots operate simultaneously and can reach up to 1000 MB/s combined ingest speed. The 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 interface feeds that bandwidth straight to the host without a separate power brick. The user-replaceable .5 metre cable keeps the link short and reliable.
Suits dual-card workflows
Video crews and photographers who offload pairs of CFast cards in one pass will save time. Users with only single-card offload needs or systems lacking Thunderbolt 3 ports should consider a simpler single-slot reader instead.

Questions about this item
What does the 1,000 MB/s aggregate figure mean when I am ingesting footage?
It means both CFast 2.0 slots can transfer data at the same time up to that combined rate, so two cards are offloaded in parallel rather than one after the other.
What does the Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps interface cap in practice?
The 40Gbps link provides enough bandwidth for the dual-slot reader to sustain its 1,000 MB/s aggregate throughput without bottlenecking the transfer.
What does the reader need to fit on my desk or in a rack?
The aluminum enclosure is bus-powered over Thunderbolt 3 and ships with a captive 0.5 m cable, so it only needs a free Thunderbolt 3 port and a small flat surface.
