Sony NEX Body Cap

The Sony ALC-B1EM is a replacement body cap designed for Sony NEX mirrorless cameras. It covers the lens mount opening to shield the image sensor from dust, moisture and accidental fingerprints when no lens is attached. This accessory is intended for NEX system owners who regularly change lenses or store the camera body separately.

Simple Friction Fit

Installation requires only pressing the cap onto the lens mount until it clicks into the bayonet tabs; no tools or alignment marks are needed. The snug friction fit stays secure during transport but can be removed with a quick twist. The only common issue is misplacing the small cap when it is not tethered to the camera strap.

Lens-Mount Protection

The single specification that matters is compatibility with the Sony NEX bayonet mount, ensuring the sensor cavity remains sealed. It does not function as a lens rear cap and offers no optical or filtering properties. Buyers needing to protect a detached lens rear element should look for a dedicated rear lens cap instead.
