The Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS lens covers wide-angle to super-telephoto in a single full-frame E-mount optic. The bundle adds a 2.2× telephoto converter and a 0.43× wide-angle attachment, each supplied with 62 mm, 67 mm, 77 mm and 82 mm step-up rings to 72 mm threads. A three-filter set, tulip hood, blower, cap keeper, cleaning pen, cloth and starter kit complete the package for photographers who want maximum focal-range flexibility without changing lenses.

Optical design and everyday handling

Five aspherical elements and one ED glass element suppress chromatic and spherical aberrations across the 24-240 mm range. Internal focusing moves only the central groups, keeping the barrel length constant and allowing a closer minimum focus distance. Physical zoom and manual-focus rings give direct tactile control, while the linear motor drives autofocus quickly and quietly for both stills and video work.

Stabilisation, light transmission and power

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization compensates for camera shake at long focal lengths and in dim conditions, enabling sharper handheld results. The variable aperture runs from f/3.5 at 24 mm to f/6.3 at 240 mm, stopping down to f/22-40 for depth-of-field control. Because the lens draws power from the camera body, no separate battery or charger is required during normal shooting sessions.
