Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM lens kit

This new Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM lens is a fixed-length prime designed for full-frame E-mount cameras. Its fast f/1.2 maximum aperture and 11-blade circular aperture deliver shallow depth of field and smooth bokeh. Three XA elements control spherical aberration and distortion for high sharpness. The bundle adds a 7-piece accessory set including a 72mm UV filter and tulip hood.

Suits portrait, street and low-light shooters

Photographers who need a bright normal prime for subject separation and low-light work will benefit from the f/1.2 aperture and G Master optics. The kit also provides basic protection and cleaning tools in one package. Buyers who want zoom flexibility or a lighter, slower prime should consider other options. Videographers needing powered zoom or parfocal performance will not find those features here.

72mm filter kit adds protection and cleaning

The bundled ULTIMAXX 72mm UV filter shields the front element from dust and scratches without reducing light transmission. A matching tulip hood blocks stray light to maintain contrast in backlit scenes. A blower, cleaning pen, microfiber cloth and starter cleaning kit let you remove smudges and particles safely in the field. These accessories keep the lens ready for daily use.

Questions about this item

What camera mount does the Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM lens require?

The lens uses Sony's FE mount and covers full-frame sensors, so it needs an E-mount body such as the A7 or A9 series to function.

Will the included 72mm UV filter and tulip hood fit older Sony lenses that also use 72mm threads?

Yes, both accessories have standard 72mm threads and will attach to any lens with that filter size regardless of age or series.

How can I verify the 11-blade aperture is forming a circular opening at f/1.2?

Stop the lens down slightly from f/1.2 and look through the front element; you should see a near-perfect circle created by the 11 blades.
