Cinema Camera for Solo Creators

The Sony FX30 is a compact APS-C cinema camera built for individual filmmakers and content creators who need professional video tools in a body that works without a cage. Its 26.1MP BSI CMOS sensor delivers UHD 4K footage at up to 120p with 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording and 16-bit raw output over HDMI.

Sustained 4K 120p Capture

The camera maintains high-frame-rate 4K recording using the full sensor width, supported by a dual-base ISO design that spans standard ISO 100 to 32000 for cleaner low-light performance across long takes. Dual CFexpress Type A and SDXC card slots allow continuous recording across media changes without interrupting the shoot.

Cage-Free Build with Dual Card Slots

A compact form factor integrates mounting points and ergonomics intended for cage-free operation, reducing rig size and weight on location. The dual-slot design accepts both CFexpress Type A and SDXC cards, letting operators choose media based on speed needs or budget while keeping footage redundant.

Questions about this item

How loud does the FX30 get when recording 4K 120p for long sessions?

The compact body has no built-in fan, so it runs silently; sustained 4K 120p recording is limited by internal heat management rather than fan noise.

What memory cards are required to use both card slots?

The camera accepts CFexpress Type A and SDXC cards; the bundle supplies a 64 GB SanDisk Extreme PRO SD card for immediate use.

Will my existing Sony E-mount lenses cover the FX30's Super 35 sensor?

Yes, any Sony E-mount lens works; full-frame lenses cover the Super 35 area with a 1.5× crop factor, while APS-C lenses match the sensor natively.
