TFFN 18 AWG Building Wire

This 18 AWG TFFN fixture wire carries a 600 V AC rating and uses a single stranded copper conductor with PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. The blue colour identifies the conductor in conduit or raceway installations. It is supplied on a 500 ft spool for continuous pulls.

Indoor conduit and fixture wiring

Suitable for electricians and installers running branch circuits inside conduit, tubing or cable trays where TFFN is permitted by code. Not intended for direct burial, wet locations or any application requiring a ground conductor or armoured protection.

18 AWG stranded conductor

The 16-strand 18 AWG construction determines ampacity and flexibility for the intended raceway system. Verify that the circuit design and local code allow this gauge before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 18 AWG stranded conductor need replacement if the PVC insulation cracks from repeated bending?

The 18 AWG stranded copper conductor with PVC insulation and nylon jacket is rated for 600V AC; replace the wire if insulation damage exposes the conductor.

At what current does the 0.09 in. diameter 18 AWG TFFN wire hit its thermal limit in conduit?

Ampacity for 18 AWG TFFN in conduit depends on installation conditions and NEC tables; the wire itself is rated 600V AC with a 0.09 in. nominal outside diameter.

Does the nylon jacket on this 500 ft spool of blue TFFN wire add noticeable heat or stiffness during all-day pulls?

The nylon jacket over PVC insulation provides abrasion resistance; the 18 AWG stranded wire on a 500 ft spool remains flexible for conduit pulling.
