Fixture Wire for 600 V AC Circuits

This Southwire 27041301 fixture wire carries a TFFN trade designation and is rated for 600 V AC. It uses a single 16 AWG stranded conductor with 26 strands, PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. The purple colour runs the full 500 ft length on a spool.

Suited to Panel and Fixture Wiring

Electricians and maintenance teams running control circuits, lighting fixtures or appliance wiring inside conduit will find the 0.1 in nominal diameter easy to pull. Installers who need a larger gauge, a different voltage rating or a solid conductor should select another product.

Verify Conduit Fill and Local Code

Before ordering, confirm that the 16 AWG stranded conductor meets the ampacity and conduit-fill requirements for your specific circuit. Check that the purple jacket colour matches your project's identification scheme and that the 500 ft spool length fits the planned pull.

Questions about this item

Will this 16 AWG stranded wire fit through a standard 0.1 in knockout on my existing fixture?

Yes, the nominal outside diameter is 0.1 in, so it matches a 0.1 in knockout.

Can the purple nylon jacket on this TFFN wire withstand the same 600 V AC rating as older THHN wire I already have?

Both TFFN and THHN carry a 600 V AC rating, so the purple jacket meets the same voltage requirement.

How can I confirm the 26-strand conductor is intact after pulling 500 ft through conduit?

Perform a continuity test from end to end; a solid reading shows the 26-strand conductor was not damaged during installation.
