Wall baffle speaker for distributed audio

The SPECO SPC-WB86T is an 8-inch dual-cone speaker mounted in a sloped solid-wood baffle. A built-in 70/25 V selectable transformer lets it connect directly to constant-voltage lines without external matching gear. An on-baffle volume control gives local level adjustment for paging or background music zones.

Practical limits of 70/25 V lines

The 70 V tap reduces conductor loss on long cable runs while the 25 V tap suits shorter runs or lower-voltage amplifier outputs. Transformer insertion loss and the fixed dual-cone driver set a ceiling on maximum SPL and low-frequency extension. Buyers needing higher output, wider bandwidth or stereo imaging from a single enclosure should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I wire the 70V or 25V tap for my amplifier?

Choose the 70V tap for long cable runs on a 70V line; choose the 25V tap if your amplifier is a 25V constant‑voltage type.

How loud will the 8in dual‑cone driver play in a typical room?

The 8in dual‑cone driver delivers clear speech and background music coverage for standard ceiling‑height rooms when driven by the selected transformer tap.
