Weatherproof PA horn for 25V or 70V line systems with selectable transformer taps up to 30W and 120dB sensitivity

  • Clear paging at 120 dB sensitivity
  • Flexible 25 V or 70 V line input
  • Six 70 V taps from 1 W to 30 W
  • Nine 25 V taps from 0.1 W to 30 W
  • Wide 250 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response

SPECO Weatherproof PA Horn

The SPECO weatherproof PA horn is built for outdoor paging and signalling systems. It accepts both 25V and 70V line inputs through a built-in rotary switch. The unit delivers high efficiency output for voice and alert distribution across open areas.

Interface limits

The horn operates only on constant-voltage lines at 25V or 70V and is explicitly not suited for 8ohm direct connections. Transformer taps are selectable via the rotary switch for each voltage setting. Frequency response spans 250Hz to 16KHz with a sensitivity of 120dB at 4V measured at 1M.

Power handling

Nominal power capacity is rated at 30W with a maximum of 60W. At 70V the available taps are 1W, 3W, 5W, 10W, 15W and 30W. At 25V the taps are 0.1W, 0.4W, 0.6W, 1.3W, 1.9W, 3.7W, 10W, 15W and 30W.

Questions about this item

Which transformer tap should I select on the rotary switch for a 70V line?

The rotary switch offers 70V taps at 1W, 3W, 5W, 10W, 15W and 30W; choose the tap that matches the power level you want the horn to draw from the 70V line.

What does the 120dB sensitivity rating mean for actual output?

At 4 volts measured one metre away the horn produces 120dB, so it delivers very high sound pressure for paging and signalling over long distances.

Can I connect this horn to a standard 8ohm amplifier output?

No, the unit is designed only for 25V or 70V constant-voltage lines and the note explicitly states it is not for 8ohm use.
