Five-piece set of 1/16-inch square-end carbide mills with four flutes and AlTiBN coating for alloy and hardened steels
Model 1/16 In
Version 5 Packs
This five-piece set delivers 1/16-inch diameter square end mills with four flutes each. Micrograin carbide construction and AlTiBN coating target carbon steels, alloy steels, pre-hardened steels, hardened steels and cast iron. The imperial shank measures .125 inches. ISO manufacturing standards apply.
Uncoated cutters wear quickly in hardened steel and high-temperature passes. The AlTiBN coating lubricates the flute surface and resists heat better than TiAlN, TiN or TiCN alternatives. The jump is worth it when tool life and finish quality outweigh the cost of basic high-speed steel or uncoated carbide bits.
The .125-inch shank seats directly in common ER, TG or DA collet systems without adapters. Four-flute geometry clears chips efficiently in slotting and profiling, freeing spindle time otherwise spent on tool changes. Rigid holders and flood or mist coolant complete the setup for general metalworking, stainless steel, titanium and Inconel alloys.
Measured against everything we stock in Bits, Hole Saws & Accessory Kits, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Other versions of this model
The shank diameter is .125 inches, so a collet or holder sized for 1/8 inch is required for proper mounting.
Use climb milling with appropriate feed and speed for the workpiece material; the coating resists heat but incorrect chip load causes chatter and flank wear.
Replace the tool when flank wear reaches roughly .006 inch or when surface finish degrades, as the micrograin carbide cannot be economically re-sharpened.
