Tool Balancer for 4-6 lb Tools
The SPEEDAIRE 5YAN8 tool balancer supports tools weighing between 4.00 and 6.00 lb. It uses a 5 ft steel cable housed in die-cast aluminium. The unit has three suspension points and a spring-clip attachment.
Upgrade from Fixed Hooks or Lighter Balancers
This balancer replaces a static hook or a lower-capacity retractor when the tool falls in the 4-6 lb range. The jump is worth it when operators need constant tension without a locking mechanism. A non-locking reel keeps the tool ready at all times.
Suits Assembly Lines and Maintenance Bays
The balancer suits workstations where a 4-6 lb tool is used repeatedly and must stay suspended. It is not for tasks that require the tool to be locked at a set height. Buyers needing a locking reel or a different weight range should look at other models.

Questions about this item
What mounting hardware is required for the three suspension points with 3/16 in hanger openings?
The balancer has three suspension points each with a 3/16 in hanger opening; you supply bolts, hooks or chain links that fit that size to hang the 4 3/8 in high die-cast aluminium housing.
How do I attach the tool to the 5 ft steel cable and what common step is missed?
Clip the tool onto the spring clip at the end of the 5 ft steel cable; the step often missed is verifying the tool weighs between 4.00 and 6.00 lb so the spring tension balances it correctly.
What part will need replacement first on a non-locking balancer with no shock absorption or spring fail mechanism?
The internal mainspring inside the standard drum will fatigue over time; with no lock, shock absorption or fail-safe, the spring is the component that eventually requires replacement.
