Tool Balancer for 2 to 4 lb Tools

This SPEEDAIRE tool balancer supports hand tools weighing between 2.00 and 4.00 lb. The five foot steel cable retracts into a die cast aluminum housing. A spring clip attaches the tool and three suspension points provide mounting flexibility.

Capacity and Headroom

The balancer handles tools up to a maximum weight of 4 lb and requires a minimum of 2 lb to operate correctly. Tools heavier than the stated limit will exceed the spring capacity and prevent proper retraction. Lighter tools will not generate enough tension for reliable return.

Included Mounting and Safety Notes

Three suspension points and a 3/16 in hanger opening allow direct attachment to overhead structure without a separate reel mount. The unit has no locking mechanism and no shock absorption feature. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

Will the 2-4 lb capacity handle my existing 3 lb impact wrench?

Yes, the balancer supports tools from 2.00 to 4.00 lb, so a 3 lb wrench falls within range.

How do I verify the 5 ft steel cable retracts smoothly after installation?

Attach a tool within the 2-4 lb range; the spring clip should hold it and the cable should extend and retract without binding.

Does the package include a mounting reel or must I buy one separately?

The reel mount is not included; you will need to supply your own mounting hardware.
