Compatible HP 12A MICR Black Toner

This aftermarket cartridge replaces the HP 12A MICR Q2612A toner for LaserJet 1010, 1012, 1018, 1020, 1022, 1022n, 1022nw, 3015, 3020, 3030, 3050, 3052, 3055, M1319 and M1319f printers. It uses a dye-based black toner formulated for magnetic ink character recognition. The cartridge is new and ships as a single unit. It is not suited for users who need standard non-MICR toner for general document printing.

Sustained check-printing reliability

The MICR toner formula works with the E-13B font to produce the magnetic characters required for cheque processing. Each cartridge delivers consistent magnetic signal strength across the full ISO-19752 yield range. The specialised powder resists smudging during high-volume runs through the listed LaserJet models. Buyers who need colour output or photo-quality graphics should choose a different product.

2000-page yield at five percent coverage

Page yield is rated at 2000 pages under the ISO/IEC 19752 standard at five percent coverage. This single figure determines whether the cartridge matches your monthly cheque volume. No other capacity or yield rating is provided for this model.

Questions about this item

Does the HP 12A MICR toner generate extra heat or noise during long print runs?

The cartridge itself has no moving parts, so it adds no fan noise or measurable heat beyond what the LaserJet 1010, 1020 or 3050 series already produce.

What printer models must I already own for this Q2612A replacement to work?

It fits HP LaserJet 1010, 1012, 1018, 1020, 1022, 1022n, 1022nw, 3015, 3020, 3030, 3050, 3052, 3055, M1319 and M1319f.

Will the MICR black formula work with the older E-13B font on my LaserJet 1012?

Yes, the toner is formulated for the E-13B font used on the 1012 and other listed models, producing a readable MICR line for check processing.
