Creative projection tool for Canon EF/EF-S lenses
The Light Blaster converts Canon EF and EF-S lenses into a strobe-based projector that mounts on a shoe-mount flash. It lets photographers and videographers cast textures, patterns, shapes or custom images across backgrounds and subjects. Ready-made slide kits provide instant themes, while a blank cartridge allows users to produce their own transparencies for full creative control. A Nikon F adapter is available separately for cross-system use.
Thermal and power behaviour in normal use
The unit draws power only from the attached speedlight, so it adds no independent electrical load or heat source during typical shooting sessions. Passive construction means there are no fans or moving parts to generate audible noise while the flash recycles. Normal operation stays limited to the flash duration and the brief handling of the slide cartridge between setups.
Sustained-load characteristics
Under continuous shooting the projector remains passive; thermal load is governed entirely by the speedlight’s own recycle rate and duty cycle. Extended sequences are limited by flash overheating protection rather than the Light Blaster itself, and the slide cartridge may need occasional cooling if high-power bursts are fired rapidly. The mechanical slide holder and lens mount maintain alignment without drift during prolonged sessions.

Questions about this item
How do I attach the Light Blaster to my Canon EF lens and what is the step people often miss?
Mount the Light Blaster onto the Canon EF or EF-S lens first, then slide your shoe-mount flash into the Light Blaster's hot-shoe; the step often missed is inserting a transparency slide into the cartridge before firing.
What part will need replacement after heavy use?
The projection transparencies or gobos in the slide cartridge will degrade or scratch over time and should be replaced to maintain image quality.
What limits how long I can run the Light Blaster continuously?
The duty cycle and recycle time of your shoe-mount flash limit sustained projection; the Light Blaster itself has no independent power or thermal limit.
