Oil spill sorbent for industrial use

Each polypropylene skimmer measures 6 in x 18 in and absorbs up to .3 gal of oil per unit. A 30-pack provides a total absorption capacity of 11 gal for hydrocarbon spills. The white pom-pom design targets oil while repelling water in facility and worksite environments.

Passive absorption requires no power

The skimmers operate without electricity, moving parts or noise during deployment. Polypropylene filler material captures oil through direct contact on water or hard surfaces. No thermal output or energy draw is produced during normal use.

Fits spill kits and containment areas

Individual 6 in x 18 in dimensions allow placement in trays, berms or alongside machinery. The 30-unit package supplies bulk inventory for response teams without requiring dedicated storage racks. No ropes or attachment hardware are included for securing the skimmers.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 6 in x 18 in sorbent skimmer and what step is often missed?

Lay each skimmer flat on the oil surface so the polypropylene filler contacts the liquid; the step often missed is ensuring full contact without folding the 18 in length.

What maintenance or replacement will the 30-pack of skimmers need once they are saturated?

Each skimmer absorbs up to .3 gal of oil; when the 11 gal package capacity is reached, remove the used skimmers and replace them with fresh units from the pack.

What limit appears first during sustained use of these oil-only sorbent skimmers?

The 11 gal total absorption limit for the 30-pack is reached first; after that the polypropylene filler cannot hold additional oil.
