Questions about this item

Will the heating element need descaling?

Yes, mineral scale builds up on the element over time; descale with vinegar or a commercial solution every few months depending on water hardness.

What stops the kettle from overheating if I leave it running?

The kettle has boil-dry protection that cuts power automatically when the water reaches boiling point or the jug is empty.
