Compact GPS tracker for vehicles and assets

The Spytec Atlas is a portable real-time GPS tracker designed for cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and RVs. It measures 3.07 inches across and weighs .454 kilograms. The device connects via Bluetooth to the Hapn app on iOS and Android for live location updates as fast as every five seconds. A 9.62 watt-hour lithium-polymer battery provides up to 14 days of operation per charge.

Suits owners needing hidden, weatherproof tracking

The waterproof ABS case with integrated magnets lets you attach the unit discreetly to metal surfaces without wiring. It works well for anti-theft protection, teen-driver monitoring, fleet oversight or keeping tabs on vulnerable family members. Buyers who want a hard-wired tracker with unlimited power or a device that operates without a cellular subscription should look at something else.

Simple magnetic mounting, app-driven setup

Installation consists of placing the tracker on a clean ferrous surface where the magnets hold it firmly; no tools or professional fitting are required. Pairing with the Hapn app takes minutes and lets you configure geofences, speed alerts and the Time Machine history view. The main issues are reduced battery life with frequent five-second updates and potential signal loss in deep indoor or underground locations.

Questions about this item

Do I need a smartphone running iOS or Android to run the Hapn app and view the tracker?

Yes. The tracking platform is delivered through the Hapn app, which is only available on iOS and Android devices. A compatible phone or tablet is required to see real-time location, geofence alerts and historical trips.

Will the tracker still report its position if the vehicle it is attached to has no built-in connectivity?

Yes. The device contains its own cellular modem and a 9.62 Wh lithium-polymer battery rated for up to 14 days, so it transmits location independently of any vehicle system.

How can I confirm the tracker is transmitting correctly after I mount it?

Open the Hapn app and verify that the live map updates — positions can refresh as often as every 5 seconds — and that the battery indicator shows a healthy charge level.
