Supreme Commander 2 digital download

Supreme Commander 2 is a real-time strategy game published by Square Enix for Windows PC. The title delivers massive-scale battles with enormous customizable armies and experimental war machines that shift the balance of power. Players choose from three distinct factions across a story-driven campaign spanning 18 missions or take the fight online for competitive multiplayer matches. Activation requires a Steam account and the supplied online game code.

System requirements and headroom

Minimum specifications call for a 3.0 GHz AMD or Intel processor, 1 GB RAM on Windows XP or 1.5 GB RAM on Vista and Windows 7, plus 4-5 GB of hard-disk space and a graphics card with 256 MB VRAM. Systems meeting these figures will run the game, though large late-game armies with hundreds of units can strain the single-threaded engine and push memory use above the listed minimums. Older single-core CPUs or integrated graphics with less video memory will hit performance limits quickly.

Steam DRM requirement

The product is a digital licence that binds to a Steam account; the game cannot be installed or launched without the Steam client and an active internet connection for the initial activation. Buyers who prefer DRM-free installers or offline-only play should look elsewhere, as this version enforces Steamworks for all authentication and updates.
