  • Stainless steel resists rust and is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup

6-Quart Rectangular Colander for Over-Sink Use

This stainless steel colander provides a 6-quart capacity in a 13 by 9 inch rectangular basket. It is designed to sit over a kitchen sink for draining pasta, washing produce, or sifting flour. The fine mesh prevents small items like rice from escaping.

Expandable Handles Fit Most Sinks

Rubber handles extend from 14 to 21 inches to rest securely on different sink widths. The collapsible frame folds flat for storage inside the basin. The entire unit is dishwasher safe for simple cleaning.

Fine Mesh Limits Drainage Speed

The tight mesh slows water flow compared to coarse strainers, so draining large volumes takes longer. It cannot hold liquids for soaking because the mesh is fully open. The rectangular shape may not sit stably on round or deeply curved sink rims.

Questions about this item

How do I know the colander is sitting securely over my sink after I expand the handles?

Extend the rubber handles until they reach the sink edges between 14 and 21 inches; the resting feet on the base should sit flat and stop the basket from tipping when full.

What comes in the box and is anything else needed to use it?

The package contains the stainless steel colander with its integrated expandable handles and fine mesh basket; no extra parts or tools are required for draining, rinsing or sifting tasks.

Which capacity should I choose if I regularly cook a full box of pasta?

The 6-quart rectangular basket measuring 13 by 9 inches holds a standard pound of pasta plus cooking water with room to spare.
