15.6-inch Gold Privacy Screen

The StarTech 156GPRIVACYSCREEN is a 15.6-inch gold privacy filter designed for 16:9 laptop displays. It attaches universally to the screen bezel without interfering with webcams or lid closure. The reversible panel offers a reflective gold side for maximum visual privacy and a matte anti-glare side for bright environments. Installation uses supplied tabs or adhesive strips for a secure fit.

For open-plan and mobile workers

This filter suits professionals handling confidential data in offices, cafes or during travel who need an instant mirror effect beyond a 60-degree viewing cone. The 30-degree off-centre limit keeps content readable for the user while blocking side views. Buyers needing privacy on screens larger than 15.6 inches or with a different aspect ratio should look at other sizes.

60-degree viewing cone and dual finish

The gold surface activates a mirror-like reflection outside the 60-degree central viewing angle, providing clear headroom for solo work. The reversible matte side adds scratch- and fingerprint-resistant protection while reducing glare under strong lighting. On displays wider than 15.6 inches the filter will not cover the full panel, leaving edges exposed.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6-inch 16:9 Gold Privacy Screen fit a laptop with a 15.6-inch 16:9 display?

Yes, the universal design is made for 15.6-inch laptop screens with a 16:9 aspect ratio and installs without blocking top-mounted webcams or lid closure.

Will the privacy filter still work if I keep an older external monitor connected?

The filter attaches directly to the laptop panel only, so the external monitor shows content normally while the built-in screen gains the 60-degree viewing angle and mirror effect.

How can I confirm the 60-degree viewing angle is active after I attach the screen?

Sit centred and view the display clearly, then move beyond 30 degrees left or right; the gold side should turn mirror-like while the matte side stays readable but darker.
