31.5-inch 16:9 privacy filter

The StarTech 31569-PRIVACY-SCREEN is a reversible monitor accessory designed for 31.5-inch displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It obscures on-screen data from side angles while preserving a clear 60-degree viewing cone for the user. The filter offers a matte anti-glare surface on one side and a high-gloss finish on the other. It includes adhesive strips, mounting tabs, a wiping cloth and a quick-start guide.

Suited for open-plan workspaces

This filter suits professionals handling confidential data in shared offices, healthcare reception areas or financial services desks where visual privacy is required. The blue light reduction helps reduce eye strain during extended screen sessions. It is not suited for curved monitors or screens with a different diagonal or aspect ratio. Buyers needing a filter for smaller, larger or ultrawide panels should look at a different size.

+/- 30 degree viewing angle

The privacy shield limits visibility to a 60-degree total viewing angle, measuring +/- 30 degrees from centre. Anyone positioned outside this range sees a darkened screen while the user retains a clear image. This specific angle is the decisive specification for determining whether the filter meets a workspace's privacy requirements. Light transmittance sits at 60 percent to maintain usable brightness.

Questions about this item

How well does the matte anti-glare coating resist fingerprints and scratches during daily use?

The matte side includes a fingerprint and scratch resistant coating that protects the monitor surface while reducing glare.

Does the filter noticeably dim the screen or change colour accuracy when left on all day?

Light transmittance is 60 percent so brightness drops moderately; the reversible glossy side preserves colour vibrancy when glare is not an issue.

Which mounting method works if my 31.5 inch 16:9 monitor has a curved bezel?

The kit supplies both residue-free adhesive strips and side mounting tabs; the tabs slide onto flat bezels while the strips bond to flat or gently curved edges.
