Hybrid USB-C and USB-A dock

The DK31C3HDPD is a universal docking station that connects through a USB-IF certified combo cable with a screw-lock mechanism. It delivers up to 85W Power Delivery to charge compatible laptops while providing video, data, network and audio connectivity through a single link. The compact black and grey enclosure measures 1.50 by 9.20 by 3.30 inches and weighs 12.9 oz.

Suits multi-display professionals.

This dock suits users who need dual or triple 4K 60Hz monitors from a USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps host connection. It works with Windows, Mac and Chrome OS laptops that support video output over USB-C or USB-A. Buyers whose workflow demands Thunderbolt 3 or 4 bandwidth for high-speed RAID arrays or external GPUs should look at a Thunderbolt-certified dock instead.

Six USB ports plus triple 4K video headroom

The hub provides six USB ports: one USB-C and one USB-A at 10Gbps, plus one USB-C and three USB-A at 5Gbps, with two ports supporting BC 1.2 fast charging. Video outputs comprise three DisplayPort 1.4 and three HDMI 2.0 ports, any combination of which can drive up to three 4K 60Hz displays with HDR. Gigabit Ethernet and a headset jack complete the I/O.

Questions about this item

Does my laptop need a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode to drive the three 4K 60Hz monitors through the dock?

Yes, the dock requires a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port with DisplayPort Alt Mode to deliver triple 4K 60Hz video over its three DisplayPort 1.4 and three HDMI 2.0 outputs.

Will the dock run at 10 Gbps if I connect it to an older USB-A 3.0 laptop port using the included combo cable?

No, the USB-A connection limits downstream bandwidth to 5 Gbps, so the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports will operate at 5 Gbps instead of 10 Gbps.

How can I confirm the dock is delivering 85 W of power to my laptop after I plug it in?

Check your laptop’s battery or power settings; it should show the dock supplying up to 85 W of Power Delivery while the dock’s status LED remains solid.
