Universal K-Slot Adapter

This security slot adapter kit adds a Kensington-style K-Slot to laptops, tablets, monitors, phones or MacBooks that lack a built-in lock slot. It works with T-bar cable locks to provide anti-theft protection for devices in shared or public spaces.

Adhesive Mounting Limits

The plate bonds with the included strong adhesive, alcohol wipe and abrasive pad to withstand up to 296lbs of pull force. Surface preparation is required, and the bond is permanent; the adapter cannot be removed cleanly once installed.

Slim Silver Build

The adapter measures 1.29in (32.7mm) in diameter and 0.26in (6.7mm) thick, keeping a low profile on thin ultrabooks and tablets. Silver finish matches common device colours, and the kit is TAA compliant for government procurement.

Questions about this item

Which version of the KSLTAD kit should I choose for a MacBook Pro?

The KSLTAD kit is a single silver adapter plate measuring 1.29in diameter and 0.26in thick; no alternative versions or capacities exist for this model.

What does the 296lbs force rating mean when the adapter is glued to my laptop?

The plate is tested to withstand up to 296lbs of pull force once the supplied adhesive cures, so a T-bar cable lock will hold the device against strong theft attempts.

Does this adapter use a Kensington K-Slot or a different interface?

It adds a standard Kensington K-Slot interface; the kit is T-bar compatible, letting you attach any T-bar cable lock to the bonded plate.
