The transceiver maintains its optical output continuously across the full 0 to 70 °C operating range while consuming less than 1.3 W. Multi-mode fiber performance remains stable at the 850 nm wavelength for the entire rated distance. Humidity tolerance of 5 to 95 % RH supports deployment in standard data-centre environments without condensation concerns. No active cooling is required on the module itself.

300 m reach on multi-mode fiber decides fit

The 300 m maximum link length on multi-mode fiber is the single parameter that determines whether this transceiver suits a given run. Links exceeding this distance require a different optical specification such as 10GBASE-LR or ER. Builders needing longer spans or single-mode cabling cannot use this module. The LC duplex connector and MSA compliance are secondary to the reach constraint.
