The StarTech ST121SHD50 extends HDMI video and audio up to 165 ft (50 m) over dual Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cabling. It supports 1080p resolution at 1920x1080 and 1080i formats. Power over Cable allows a single included 12 V DC adapter to power both the local transmitter and remote receiver units. No software or drivers are required for operation.

Verify the Ethernet cable category and construction in your installation. Solid Cat5e or Cat6 supports the full 50 m (165 ft) at 1080i, while stranded Cat5e is limited to 40 m (130 ft). For 1080p, Cat6 solid or stranded reaches 40 m. Ensure two separate cable runs are available between the source and display locations for the dual RJ-45 connections.

Thermals noise and power draw
