SKU CH-SS21-BJ4BM MPN TBLT5MM1M240W

A 1 m Thunderbolt 5 cable delivers 80 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth, 240 W power delivery and 8K 60 Hz video while remaining backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4

  • Product typeType
  • Certified Thunderbolt 5 cable delivers 80Gbps bidirectional bandwidth for high-performance workflows
  • Supports up to 120Gbps asymmetric mode for demanding display configurations
  • 240W Power Delivery charges 16in MacBook Pro M4 and other power-hungry laptops
  • 8K 60Hz video output drives professional monitors from a single connection
  • PCIe 4.0 at 64Gbps enables external GPUs, NICs and storage in Thunderbolt chassis

Certified Thunderbolt 5 Cable

This one-metre Thunderbolt 5 cable carries bidirectional 80 Gbps bandwidth and supports 8K video at 60 Hz. It delivers up to 240 W of power delivery for charging high-performance laptops. The cable is certified for Thunderbolt 5 and remains backward compatible with earlier Thunderbolt and USB-C hosts.

Installation and Common Issues

Connect the USB-C plugs to both devices; the cable is plug-and-play with no drivers required. Its shielded 30/34 AWG coaxial construction resists interference during PCIe 4.0 data transfers at 64 Gbps. A frequent issue is using a port that only supports lower Thunderbolt or USB speeds, which caps the link below the cable’s 80 Gbps rating. Another pitfall is expecting 120 Gbps asymmetric mode on hosts that implement only the symmetric 80 Gbps profile.

Bandwidth and Power Limits

The Thunderbolt 5 interface tops out at 80 Gbps bidirectional or up to 120 Gbps in asymmetric configuration. PCIe 4.0 tunnelling is limited to 64 Gbps, so external GPUs, NICs and storage cannot exceed that throughput. Power delivery stops at 240 W, so devices needing more power will not charge at full speed. Video output is capped at 8K 60 Hz, preventing higher refresh rates at that resolution.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the cable delivers 80Gbps bidirectional bandwidth and 240W power after connecting it?

Check the host device’s Thunderbolt control panel or system report; it should show an 80Gbps link and 240W PD contract when the cable is seated fully in both ports.

What accessories are included and which must be purchased separately?

The box contains only the 1m Thunderbolt 5 cable; any dock, GPU enclosure or 8K display must be bought separately.

Should I choose this 1m version or a longer length for a 16in MacBook Pro M4 setup?

This 1m model is certified for full 80Gbps and 240W at its rated length; longer cables may not sustain the same performance.
