A 1/2 inch drive torque extension limits impact wrench output to 65 ft-lb to protect wheels and brake rotors
The Steelman 50092A limits torque to 65 ft-lb when driven by an electric or pneumatic impact wrench. It is intended for mechanics and DIYers who need to protect wheel studs, lug nuts and brake rotors from overtightening during wheel installation.
The extension flexes to absorb any impact force above the 65 ft-lb threshold, so the tool cannot deliver higher torque even if the wrench is capable of more. It is not suited for applications that require a different torque value or for use with hand ratchets that do not generate impact impulses.
The 1/2 inch drive fits directly onto the impact wrench anvil and accepts a standard socket, requiring no special adapters. The yellow powder coat helps identification in a busy toolbox. Overtightening can still occur if the wrench is run after the extension has reached its flex limit, so the operator must stop once the stick begins to twist.

Choose the 65 ft-lb model when your wheel lug nuts require exactly that torque specification; each extension is calibrated to a single fixed limit so match the value to the vehicle manual.
The 8-inch Chromoly bar flexes once the wrench tries to exceed 65 ft-lb, absorbing the extra impact so the lug nut stops tightening at the rated value.
The 1/2 inch drive fits standard impact sockets and the anvil of any 1/2 inch electric or pneumatic impact wrench, letting the extension transmit torque up to its 65 ft-lb limit.
